(1) Meanwhile, across the street from Huayan Temple, this funky little place has grand plans to cash in on Huayan's proximity and become big. (Note the Four Heavenly Kings sitting outside.)
(2) Styling itself "Yuantong Temple," it currently consists of this one hall, along with a canopy next to it.
(3) The main hall statuary leaves something to be desired.
(4) And if this monk (also in the main hall) is any indication, it's going to be a while before this project gets off the ground!
