Guide to Facebook Albums
from The Temple Guy

As you can read on its very own Guide Page, in 2009 I set out to visit The 142 Key Temples in the (traditionally) Han Area of China (132 down, 10 to go!) Along the way I managed to see quite a few other interesting things as well.

On my tenth trip, in the last week of August 2011, I started posting photos to Facebook albums while I was still on the road. Why I didn't do so sooner is a mystery, but a clue may lie in the fact that I had only made one Facebook album previously, in 2008. I guess it just hadn't become my "thing" yet. Also, I was often using my Kindle to post in those days, as we hadn't started paying for VPN access inside China, and you couldn't post pictures by Kindle!

Because of the ephemeral nature of all things Facebook, I have decided to transfer those albums out of Facebook and save them here, where I have more control over their fate. Aficionados who attempt to visit them there will be redirected here.

Anyway, if the page layout here looks familiar, it may be because I copied, pasted, and edited it from this page where my temple articles from the Shenzhen Daily are listed. Someday I might try to make a "Mega-Guide" with all the articles, postcards, and albums--as well as the main posts--linked from a single page. Until then, here we go!
