Guangyuan Temple, Chengde, Hebei
(August 28, 2011)

(1) Farther along, past the gate of Puyou Temple, is the parking lot for a new cemetery being built. And past that are the crumbling remains of Guangyuan Temple. I know nothing about it except man!, was it evocative. Here's the sealed up main gate (there's a door into the compound elsewhere).

(2) Standing up on a pile of bricks, I was able to get this shot over the front wall of Guangyuan Temple. This was probably the Heavenly Kings Hall (hard to see here, but there was a dog in front of it; he wasn't too happy about me). That might be the main hall behind it, and there seems to be some farming going on on the grounds. And that's it for today's temple visits; more tomorrow!
