Trip 10: Dongbei, Hebei, and Qingdao (August 24-31, 2011)

Ci'en Temple, Shenyang, Liaoning

Trip 10 is the first trip for which I made a "You Are There" photo album, posting from my hotel rooms along the way. This trip started in the far northeastern city of Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, and its southernmost point was Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, passing through Beijing, the national capital, on the way. It was a capital experience!

Not to put too fine a point on it, I also visited Changchun, capital of Jilin Province; Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province; and Chengde in Hebei, which functioned as a sort of "Summer Capital" for the Qing emperors. Anyway... (A final shot took me to Qingdao, no the capital of Shandong Province!)

The posts are separated by site (for easier linking), instead of being all jammed into one album as they were on Facebook. And in an unblog like manner, they run chronologically from top to bottom.

Incidentally, here's a brief itinerary for Trip 10 on my Key Temples archive.

Enjoy!

Here for your convenience is the same list found on the Guide Page for the Facebook albums.
